Set sending windows and quiet hours

Sending windows and quiet hours control when a text message is allowed to leave. A sending window is the range of hours during which messages may go out; quiet hours are the blocked times (for example, overnight) when nothing is delivered. Messages that would land outside the window are held and released at the next allowed time. This keeps texts landing during business hours, respects local time-of-day rules, and avoids late-night or early-morning sends that lead to complaints and opt-outs.

Before you begin​

  • Confirm you have permission to edit SMS delivery or send settings for the Folder or account.
  • Decide the allowed hours (start and end) and which days count as quiet.
  • Know the time zone the window should follow — the account default, or each subscriber's local time zone if that option is available.
  • Have any legal or industry cutoffs handy (many regions restrict texting before roughly 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m. local time — confirm the rules for your audience).

Steps​

  1. Open the SMS delivery or scheduling settings for your account or Folder. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. Enable the sending window, then set the earliest and latest send times for each applicable day of the week.
  3. Set the time zone the window follows — a single account time zone, or the subscriber's local time zone for time-of-day accuracy.
  4. Define quiet hours (the blocked overnight or weekend ranges), and choose whether held messages release at the next open window or are dropped.
  5. Save the settings, then send a test Broadcast timed to fall inside a quiet period to confirm it is held rather than delivered.

Result​

Texts now go out only inside the allowed window. Anything scheduled during quiet hours is queued and released when the window reopens, so subscribers receive messages at appropriate local times. Check the delivery or send report to confirm held messages went out at the expected time.
