Send by Recipient Timezone or Optimized Time
Instead of sending your Broadcast to everyone at the same moment, you can stagger delivery so each subscriber receives it at a consistent local hour, or let the platform choose the moment each subscriber is most likely to engage. Both options aim to land your Edition near the top of the inbox when the subscriber is actually reading.
Before you begin
- Finish and proof your Edition, and confirm the audience you plan to Broadcast to.
- Make sure your subscriber data includes the field that drives timing:
- Send by timezone relies on a per-subscriber timezone (or a location/region field the platform can map to one).
- Optimized time relies on the platform's model of past open and click behavior, so it works best for subscribers with some sending history.
- Decide the anchor for timezone sends — for example "9:00 AM local time" — and a fallback for subscribers whose timezone is unknown.
- Confirm you have permission to schedule or send Broadcasts in your account.
Steps
- Open your Edition and go to the send or schedule step for the Broadcast.
- Choose the scheduling mode instead of an immediate send.
- Select the delivery-timing option:
- Recipient timezone — set the target local time (for example 9:00 AM). Delivery rolls out across timezones so each subscriber receives it at that local hour.
- Optimized / best time — pick the delivery date (and any window, such as "within 24 hours"). The platform picks each subscriber's individual send moment inside that window.
- Set the fallback behavior for subscribers with no timezone or no engagement history — typically your chosen anchor time in a default timezone.
- Review the summary, then confirm and schedule the Broadcast. (Confirm the exact option names and window controls in your account.)
Result
The Broadcast is scheduled rather than sent at once. As each timezone or predicted moment is reached, that portion of the audience is delivered to, and the send progresses over the following hours. You can watch delivery ramp up in the Broadcast's report, where sends, opens, and clicks accumulate across the rollout window rather than all at the start.
