Add a Dynamic Content Block to an Edition
A dynamic content block shows different content to different subscribers in the same Broadcast. You define audience rules (for example, by region, role, or a personalization field), give each rule its own content variation, and set a default for everyone who matches nothing. This lets one Edition feel personal to every subscriber.
Before you begin
- Confirm the subscriber data you want to target (such as region, plan, or a custom field) is present on your subscriber records — rules can only match on data the platform already holds.
- Have your content variations ready: the text, images, or links each audience group should see.
- Open the Edition where the block will live, and know roughly where in the layout it belongs.
Steps
- In the Edition editor, add a new content block and choose the dynamic (rules-based) block type. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- Create your first audience rule by selecting a subscriber field, a comparison (equals, contains, is not empty, and so on), and a value — for example,
Region equals APAC. - Add the content this group should see for that rule. Build it as you would any block: text, images, buttons, and personalization tags.
- Add more rules for the other groups you want to reach, each with its own content variation.
- Set the default content for subscribers who match none of your rules — never leave this empty.
- Order the rules so the most specific match sits above broader ones; the block uses the first rule a subscriber satisfies.
- Save the Edition.
Result
Each subscriber now sees the variation for the first rule they match, or the default if none apply. Send a test or preview as different sample subscribers to confirm each group resolves to the content you expect before you Broadcast.
