Organize and manage your lists
Keeping your subscriber lists tidy makes it faster to pick the right audience for a Broadcast and easier to spot lists that are stale or duplicated. This page covers renaming, grouping, and safely removing lists.
Before you begin
- Make sure you have permission to manage audiences in your account (confirm the exact steps in your account).
- Know which lists are actively used by scheduled or automated Broadcasts — removing one that's in use can disrupt a send.
- Agree on a naming convention with your team (for example, a prefix by region, program, or lifecycle stage) so lists sort predictably.
Steps
- Open the Audiences area and locate the list you want to change.
- To rename a list, open it and edit its name, then save. Update any internal documentation that refers to the old name.
- To group lists, apply a consistent name prefix or use tags/folders if your account supports them, so related lists cluster together in the list view (confirm the exact grouping option in your account).
- To archive or delete a list, first confirm it isn't referenced by an active or scheduled Broadcast or automation. Then choose the remove/archive action and confirm.
- Review the remaining lists and merge obvious duplicates by consolidating subscribers into a single canonical list.
Result
Your list view shows clearly named, logically grouped lists, and unused or duplicate lists have been archived or removed. When you build your next Edition, selecting the right audience takes just a few clicks.
